Following England's 2-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland in the Nations League, Jack Grealish declared that there was "no bad blood whatsoever".
Before deciding to represent England, the 28-year-old competed at the Under-17, Under-18, and Under-21 levels for Ireland.
Grealish, a Manchester City striker who was left out of the Three Lions' Euro 2024 team over the summer, was unavoidably on the scoresheet as England easily defeated Ireland in Lee Carsley's debut game in command.
Declan Rice, who also represented Ireland in three international friendlies before choosing to play for England, had a fantastic opening goal prior to Grealish's. The former captain of Aston Villa talked about the reception the two received after the game, saying they were both loudly jeered whenever they touched the ball in Dublin.
Grealish told ITV, "It was what me and Declan expected." "We both had a great time [playing for Ireland] and we have nothing negative to say about it. I know I did.
Everyone will say the same thing: playing for England is the best feeling in the world, especially in games like tonight where you know the entire country will be watching. Imagine walking to the fans at the end and hearing them sing my name.
It was one of the worst summers I have ever had because you are unable to see everything that is going on in front of you. Although challenging, it has given me something to help me recover."
Rice continued by saying that under Carsley, who assisted the Under-21 Three Lions in winning the 2023 European Championship, England had loved their camp.
"It has been really refreshing this week - Lee has been amazing to work with, his meetings have been top and training has been really good," the Arsenal midfielder stated.
"It's been a fresh start, a change and to win for him today and for ourselves to get off to a winning start was the main thing."
