The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has achieved a significant victory in battling a massive fire that ravaged Zongo Lane in Accra for an entire week. The inferno, which began on September 1, 2024, posed a formidable challenge to firefighters due to the presence of highly combustible materials such as home appliances, plastics, and leather.
Despite the obstacles, including locked shops, intense heat, acrid smoke, and collapsing structures, the GNFS firefighters demonstrated unwavering dedication and expertise. Through their tireless efforts, they managed to confine the blaze, preventing it from spreading further and potentially causing even greater destruction.
