According to Damian Vidagany, director of football operations at Aston Villa, at least 40 teams are interested in signing striker Jhon Duran.

The 20-year-old Duran wanted a move away from Villa, but that didn't work out. Chelsea pursued him during the January and summer transfer windows, and he even made public flirtations with West Ham United.

Duran, who caused some controversy this summer, is still an important member of the Villa team and has already scored twice this year, one against the Hammers on the first day of play.

"If there is a club which really thinks he can be one of the top strikers in the world, if there is one club and one manager, it is Aston Villa and Unai Emery," Vidagany added. "Everyone wants Duran, and there are at least forty clubs vying for his services.

"At the age of 20, Jon Duran already possesses a great deal of knowledge and potential. He has the potential to be among the world's top attackers."

The 20-year-old was commended by Sporting Director Monchi for maintaining his focus, even though he acknowledged that Duran planned to depart this summer in search of regular minutes.

"The most important thing for Dami and me is to be aligned with Unai because he is the boss," Monchi stated. "I spent four years working with Dami at Valencia and him at Sevilla. We must comprehend Unai. He has a lot of faith in Jhon Duran. Extremely assured.

"He believes he can rank among the world's top attackers in the next years. He's convinced beyond belief. However, what really is the issue? Watkins and Duran are also interested in playing. He believes he is superior to Watkins.

That is typical as each athlete believes themselves to be superior to their teammates. Although managing Ollie Watkins and Duran is difficult, it is ultimately beneficial for the squad. It is preferable to have two powerful strikers than just one.

"Did Duran wish to quit the team? Indeed. It makes sense if he wants to play. However, as of yesterday (the deadline day), when we spoke with him, he is content. He's getting good training."
