Due to his experience and potential value as a midfield addition to Barcelona, the Ghanaian international, who is scheduled to become a free agency in June 2025, has drawn a lot of interest.

Since joining Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in October 2020, the 31-year-old Thomas Partey has played a pivotal role in the team when he hasn't been hurt.

In his three whole Premier League games this season, he has managed just one goal.

Because of his age, past injury history, and other considerations, Arsenal has not decided whether to offer him a new contract despite his contributions. Partey's influence at Arsenal is probably going to decrease with the recent addition of Mikel Merino and the anticipated change in Declan Rice's role to a more defensive one. There haven't even been any speculations that the club is offering him a new contract.

Barcelona is now reevaluating its midfield options, which is why they are showing interest.

Barcelona had not originally intended to bolster their midfield after securing the acquisitions of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor this summer and prioritising the integration of younger players like Marc Bernal and Marc Casadó.

Nevertheless, Bernal's severe knee injury has made them reevaluate their choices. The Spanish press claims that Partey's La Liga experience—having played for Mallorca, Almeria, and Atlético Madrid—makes him an invaluable asset for the Catalan team.

Not only has Barcelona expressed interest in Partey, but other big clubs have also taken notice of his possible free move. Atletico Madrid is apparently thinking about re-signing the midfield player, and Juventus is reportedly ready to make him an offer for a three-year deal.

Furthermore, Saudi Arabian teams Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli have surfaced as possible suitors, able to present attractive financial packages.

There is still uncertainty around Partey's future as the January transfer window draws near.

Barcelona, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and Saudi Arabian teams will all be keeping a careful eye on the situation in an effort to sign the seasoned midfield player for free in the summer or for a discounted price in the winter.
