Tyrell Malacia, a left-back, will soon resume training with Manchester United, according to Erik ten Hag.
Due to a knee injury that required surgery and kept him from playing a single minute of the previous season, the Dutch defender has been out of commission since the summer of 2023.
Nevertheless, Ten Hag stated Malacia is almost fit for competitive action once more and acknowledged that the 25-year-old was included to United's Europa League roster. Ten Hag is eager for supporters to have patience with Malacia.
"Of course, we want to motivate him to return, but it's not so easy when you are so long away," he stated. "It has taken him more than a season from an injury to make a comeback, but he is currently making great progress and is working extremely hard."
"He's progressing well, so we believe we can count on him to join the team training at any time. He's a natural talent."
I anticipate that he will be able to play games again shortly."
When Malacia eventually resumes training, it will be a major relief for United, who are still without Luke Shaw, their other natural left-back.
Despite being a natural right-back, Diogo Dalot has recently covered on the opposing side, and Noussair Mazraoui, a recent addition, has left-wing expertise. Harry Amass, 17, gained notice during the preseason and has trained with the senior team this year.
