While commending Ousmane Dembele on his progress at Paris Saint-Germain, Luis Enrique also gave him encouragement to sharpen his goal-scoring skills. The 27-year-old joined PSG in August of last year for a rumored sum of about €50 million from Barcelona. Since then, he has scored nine goals and given 17 assists in 47 games. Dembele has stepped up since Kylian Mbappe left for Real Madrid, tallying three goals and dishing out two assists in his first four Ligue 1 appearances. Luis Enrique is optimistic that Dembele will keep getting better as the season goes on, with Reims up next.
"Ousmane is like last season, perhaps a little more effective in terms of finishing," he stated to reporters. However, he has consistently proved pivotal for us and possesses a special ability to defeat opponents. Perhaps he should focus more on increasing his efficiency.Dembele was excellent last year, and it's even better this year, and we're continuing striving to make it even better." Luis Enrique gave everyone confidence that he was content with his group, even though he lost Mbappe at the end of the previous campaign. "I think we'll have an even better team next year, even if I don't know which players we'll have," stated Luis Enrique.
"I'm attempting to impart this great idea to the club. We have a stronger squad this year than we did last." Marco Asensio, the Spanish forward, strained his right thigh muscle and will miss PSG's match against Reims. Gianluigi Donnarumma, the goalkeeper, is still receiving therapy for a muscle ailment. Due to injuries, defenders Lucas Hernandez and Presnel Kimpembe, as well as striker Goncalo Ramos, are still out. With their 1-0 victory over Girona at home in their Champions League opening on Wednesday, PSG has had little time to prepare for their matchup with Reims, who are sixth in the Ligue 1 rankings.
