  • The death of Jesus Christ on the Cross depicts how we are precious to God and how much He loves us. This call on us to be very intentional about how we live our lives. To be intentional about life means, to be deliberate, purposeful and thoughtful in one's actions decisions and interactions. It involves being mindful and focused about the principles and promises God has given to us and taking conscious steps to grow in Him daily.

Genesis 25:29-34 KJV

And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint: [30] And Esau said to Jacob, feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore, was his name called Edom. [31] And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. [32] And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? [33] And Jacob said, swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. [34] Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus, Esau despised his birthright.

This act is considered to be a rush and impulsive decision. In this context, birth right signifies special privileges and responsibilities given to the firstborn son in a family including leadership, inheritance and special blessings from the father and God to continue his linage. And by selling these privileges, Esau allowed his younger brother (Jacob) in his stead.

One careless decision of Esau ended his at the wrong side of life. Understand child of destiny that our life is as good as the actions and decisions we make daily. Prioritizing short term gains over long term benefits has become the order of the day. We ln a generation where most people wants quickest of becoming the next successful person.

Out of desperation, people have sacrificed a very bright and promising future for immediate satisfaction. To Esau, he lost His birth right, but you may lose your life, your virginity, spiritual life, and a lot more significant things which patience, trusting the process and intentionality about our life would produce. Common red stew and bread deprived a man as the rightful heir of generational blessings. When Esau realized his mistakes, it was very late.

Esau's indecision made him regret and anger boiled over into a desire for revenge against his brother, Jacob.

 Matthew 7:6 KJV

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.  Value what God has made you and build your life around it.

THINGS THAT LOOK LIKE PEARLS IN OUR LIFE.

1. Your spiritual life: The life of a Christian does not end after accepting Jesus Christ as his lord and Saviour, in fact that's the beginning of the journey of becoming like Christ. God expects us to progressively grow and become a mature Christian. What's the essence of salvation if the recipient doesn't value it? Let's learn to grow in Christ through a daily relationship with him by reading his word, praying and living the Christ-like life.

2. Love life: Most believers have surrendered almost every aspect of their life to God but not their love life. God is interested in every action and decisions you make as a child of God. Your love is a precious treasure, don't give it to fools, don't give to someone who doesn't think twice, don't give to people who will not worthy of it. Let your love life glory God.

3. Your Time: Time is commodity which is Universal. We all have equal hours, minutes and seconds. And remember, seconds make a minute,  minutes makes an hour, hours makes a day, Days Makes a week, weeks makes a month, and months makes a year. Have you wondered why we all have equal time and days yet some become more successful as compared to others?  The difference between the successful person and the unsuccessful is how they are intentional about time. In this life, we have time wasters and the more you allow them in your life, they may you delay in life. Time wasters are destiny eaters. Use your time effectively!

The more you waste your time the more your life get wasted. Read books, join productive groups that will help improve and add value to your life.  Glory God with your time.

 Conclusion.

God created us to do his Good Works according to Ephesians 2:10, and it takes being intentional to be able to accomplish that. As we build our life, may the wisdom of God guide us, because by it, a house is built; by understanding it is established and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

The pleasant and precious things comes when we begin to build our relationship, academics, families, family, finances and marriages.

God is calling us to the place where we will be responsible for our life. He's calling us to be intentional about the choices and the actions we take with our life. Ignorance is very expensive, seek knowledge. Don't follow quick-quick satisfaction today and regret later.
