Former President John Dramani Mahama has cut the sod for the construction of a 500-seater sports facility in Bole-Bamboi, located in the Savannah Region.
This initiative is part of his long-standing commitment to promoting youth development and improving infrastructure in underserved communities, particularly in the northern parts of Ghana.Speaking at the ceremony, Mahama stressed the significance of sports in nurturing talent and fostering unity.
He expressed his belief that the facility would become a hub for athletic talent in the Savannah Region, providing young people with opportunities to grow their skills and possibly launch professional careers in sports. Mahama noted that sports play a vital role in youth engagement, personal discipline, and community cohesion, making this project a high priority for the area.
The planned facility will be multipurpose, accommodating football matches, track and field events, and other sports activities. It will have the capacity to seat 500 spectators and include additional features such as changing rooms, a gym, and spaces for training and community events.
