The top 10 Premier League centre-back pairings with the fewest goals conceded per game have been revealed.
Every football enthusiast knows that defenders are a key cog to a team, as their solidity helps their teams get over the line at trying times.
Some defenders also contribute to their teams in the attacking departments alongside doing their primary duty excellently.
The list of the top 10 centre-back pairings of all time in the Premier League with the fewest goals conceded per game is stacked with many legendary names.
The duo of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen occupy the 10th spot on the list, with the pair playing 54 matches together and conceding an average of 0.91 goals per game.
Spurs’ Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen played 96 matches together and conceded an average of 0.89 goals every game.
Jamie Carragher and Daniel Agger were partners in defence at Liverpool, with the pair featuring in 56 matches together and shipping in 0.82 goals per game.
Interestingly, Gabriel Meghales and William Saliba of Arsenal are on a good track, with their partnership sitting pretty at the 7th spot.

Above the Gunners duo are Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk and Joel Matip, with the pair playing a combined 72 matches and letting in 0.82 goals in that run of games.
Joleon Lescott and Vincent Kompany also formed a formidable partnership at Manchester City, with the duo playing 58 matches together and conceding 0.76 goals per game.
Fascinatingly, the iconic Chelsea centre-back pairing of John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho also shipped in the same number of goals per game as Lescott and Kompany (0.76), but they did theirs in 87 matches.
Arsenal’s Martin Keown and Tony Adams played 79 matches together and conceded 0.73 goals per game.
Duo Of Rio Ferdinand And Nemanja Vidic Occupy The Second Spot
The famed defensive partnership of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic slightly misses the top spot, having conceded 0.71 goals per game in a staggering 118 matches.
The pair featured in the most matches amongst the other names listed in the top 10, but they fall behind the iconic centre-back pair of Sol Campbell and Kolo Toure at Arsenal.
