On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, Asante Kotoko SC will leave for the United States to play for Ghana at the renowned Capital City Africa Cup in Washington, D.C.

On October 12, 2024, the Porcupine Warriors will take on DC United of Major League Soccer (MLS) at the brand-new Audi Field in Washington, D.C.

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) collaborated to arrange the annual Ghana Week DC 2024 celebrations, including Kotoko's international friendly participation. The GFA approved Kotoko's involvement.

The match intends to highlight Ghanaian culture in Washington, D.C., and further enhance the profile of Ghanaian football on the global stage.

This is the second time an MLS team would play a friendly match in the United States for a Ghana Premier League team; the first was on October 14, 2023, when the MLS team defeated Medeama SC 2-1.

Just one point behind leaders Medeama in the Ghana Premier League standings, Asante Kotoko SC will play their first match against Accra Lions on October 6 before heading overseas.

The team is excited to represent Ghanaian football talent internationally and leave a lasting impact.

Ghana coach Otto Addo will pick the Black Stars squad for the Sudan doubleheader on Friday.

On Friday, October 4, Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is expected to reveal his official starting lineup for the two-game match against Sudan.

This month, Ghana's male senior national team will play their Sudanese counterpart in Rounds 3 and 4 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFON) qualifiers.

The Ghana FA announced this evening that coach Otto Addo will address the media tomorrow to reveal his team for the two matches against Sudan.

“Head Coach Otto Addo is poised to unveil the #BlackStars squad for the AFCON Qualifiers versus Sudan on Friday, 4th October 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Ghana Football Association Conference Room,” a notice from the GFA said.

The four-time champions of the continental extravaganza, Ghana, are back in action this month following a lackluster showing versus Angola and Niger the previous month.

On October 11, 2024, the Black Stars will host Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium.

On October 15, the team will go to Tripoli, Libya to play Sudan in the rematch.

After a dismal start to the qualifiers last month, in which Ghana lost 1-0 to Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium before drawing 1-1 with Niger in Berkane, Morocco, Otto Addo and his team are ready to make amends against Sudan.

In the upcoming days, the former Borussia Dortmund talent development coach will make his team announcement for the fiercely fought match.

Presumably, the team will contain well-known players like Majeed Ashimeru, Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew, Inaki Williams, Mohammed Kudus, and Thomas Partey.

When their injuries heal, Alexander Djiku and Ernest Nuamah, absent from Ghana's previous games, should rejoin the squad.
