In the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) doubleheader against Sudan, Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare has maintained his spot in the Black Stars side.

Otto Addo revealed his starting lineup for the two games at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) headquarters on Friday, October 4.

For the upcoming games, Asare, who appears to have earned the trainer's trust, will remain in the squad.

On Monday, October 7, the playing body is anticipated to report for camp.

Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a change in scheduling for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers between Ghana and Sudan.

Matchdays three and four will now take place on Thursday, October 10, and Tuesday, October 15, 2024, instead of on October 11 and 14.

On October 10, the Black Stars will play Sudan at Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg of their encounter. On October 15, Benina, Libya, will host the return game.

Ghana, who are still looking for their first qualification victory, has already lost 1-0 to Angola and drawn 1-1 with Niger.

With one point, the Black Stars are presently in third position in Group F.
