According to Ibrahim Tanko, coach of the Accra Lions, "three gentlemen" assisted Asante Kotoko in defeating his squad.

According to Ibrahim Tanko, coach of the Accra Lions, Asante Kotoko defeated his club in their Ghana Premier League match thanks in part to the efforts of "three gentlemen," who are likely the referees.

At the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Sunday, the Porcupine Warriors defeated the Lions 1-0 thanks to a goal from Albert Amoah minutes into the second half.

While he did not specifically mention the officials, the former Ghanaian international hinted in his post-match remarks that Kotoko's triumph was a result of unjust officiating.

"It was 1-0 in the second half after we had a poor first half. Then we awoke," Tanko remarked. "Undoubtedly, we performed better in the second half. We all witnessed what the three gentlemen did, though. The game finished like this.

"You don't have to throw everything away simply because you're behind 1-0," he continued. We have faith in our system. Thus, the three gentlemen undoubtedly assisted them, as I mentioned. Kotoko deserves congratulations.

After the loss, the Accra Lions are now in 14th place in the league standings with four points from five games—three losses, one win, and one tie.

On Friday, October 11, 2024, the Lions will host Berekum Chelsea.
