Prosper Ogum, the head coach of Asante Kotoko, is optimistic that his team's close 1-0 wins will soon become more exciting games.

Ogum stressed that his team is producing a lot of opportunities, which is encouraging for upcoming games, even though the victories were close.

"The team is playing well, and as we create opportunities, I am confident that they will score going forward. As they score, they will gain confidence," he stated.

Therefore, it is not the best when you create roughly 17 opportunities and only score one. However, it is also a positive indication that the team is highly attacking," he continued.

At the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, Kotoko defeated the Accra Lions 1-0 after a fierce battle. In the 48th minute, Albert Amoah scored the game-winning goal after Dauda Saaka's precise cross.

With this outcome, Kotoko shot to the top of the league, trailing only Bibiani Goldstars on goal differential but tied with them on points. They want to keep up their good form, thus their next test will be against Legon Cities.

Kurt Okraku, president of the GFA, attacks Black Stars players before important AFCON games

Kurt Okraku, the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), didn't mince words when he spoke harshly to the Black Stars players.

Before their pivotal doubleheader against Sudan this month, Okraku criticized the team and voiced his unhappiness over their previous lackluster results, which have left Ghana's prospects of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations hanging in the balance.

Ghana started their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Niger and a disappointing home loss to Angola, leaving them with just one point out of a possible six.

The team, which is now in third place in Group F, needs to improve if it is to qualify for the tournament in Morocco the following year.

Okraku didn't hold back when he spoke to the squad on October 8. He was obviously upset at what he saw as a lack of passion on the field and implored the players to give it their all for the nation.

"A team of boys or men who would demonstrate enthusiasm and desire to play for our country is the minimum that Ghana and I demand," he stated.

"Avoid dribbling when the ball is going toward your net and you are visible moving across the field. It's not conceivable, I informed the coach.

He told the players that wearing the national jersey should make them feel proud and that they should be aggressive and competitive.

He went on, "You guys will never be chosen if you don't decide to donate your lives for Ghana."

Before traveling to Libya for the rematch on October 15, the Black Stars will play Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 10.
