Aboubakar Ouattara, Hearts of Oak's head coach, has shared details about the team's preparations for this weekend's matchup versus Young Apostles.

In Week 6 of the 2024–2025 season, the Phobians will travel to Wenchi to play the Ghana Premier League newcomers.

Coach Aboubakar Ouattara told Hearts TV before the game that his players were prepared, but he acknowledged that the match would be difficult.

According to the coach, his side has practiced both possession and goal-scoring to defeat Young Apostles.

"We've been focusing on three projects. We try to comprehend football by working on the first two aspects: ball possession and psychology. Due to the way we are generating opportunities, we are also working on goal-scoring. We make an effort to go on. Coach Aboubakar Ouattara stated, "The boys are responding well and are prepared to progress."

On Sunday, October 13, the match between Young Apostles and Hearts of Oak will take place.

Wenchi Sports Stadium will host the game starting at 3 p.m.

The players' personalities are our main issue. Prince Tagoe, former Black Stars striker

The Black Stars' recent results in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifications have drawn criticism from former Ghanaian striker Prince Tagoe, who attributes their difficulties to a lack of character among the players.

His comments coincide with Ghana's ongoing campaign woes, as they have only managed two points from their opening three Group F games.

On Thursday, October 10, 2024, in the Accra Sports Stadium, the Black Stars drew goallessly with Sudan, further hurting their prospects of making it to AFCON 2025.

The team's dismal performance, which includes draws against Niger and Sudan and a loss to Angola, has angered supporters and football analysts.

In an interview with Bryt FM, Tagoe emphasized that when playing for the national team, the players must reproduce the level of intensity they display at the club level. "We will definitely win games if the players can duplicate at least 80% of the performances they put on at their different clubs. Our main issue has been that, although we have good players, they approach Black Stars games with very little character, Tagoe said.

In order to maintain their aspirations of making it to AFCON 2025, Ghana will need to make a big improvement in their next return leg versus Sudan, which will take place in Tripoli, Libya.
