Lionel Messi has launched a new pair of Adidas boots but only 10 players can wear them.

Lionel Messi has announced a team of 10 players who will be allowed to wear his new range of Adidas boots.

Messi has been the face of Adidas for a number of years now, having moved from Nike back in 2006.

The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner has a lifetime deal with the three-striped brand and is a prominent figure in advertisements and promotional material.

Messi wears the F50 boots and both he and the German sportswear giants have launched the new 'Triunfo Estelar', which translates to 'Star Triumph'.

The boots, which are white with hints of purple, black, and fluorescent yellow, were unveiled on October 10, which is now being referred to as 'Messi Day'.

The cleats, containing Messi's name, celebrate the Argentine legend's unmatched legacy and are a call-back to an iconic pair he wore in 2010.

But while Messi has already debuted them on the pitch for Inter Miami and Argentina, he has also given a select group of young stars his blessing to wear them.

In a promotional video, Messi announced the exclusive list of players who will be sporting the boots on the pitch.

Barcelona and Spain sensation Lamine Yamal, who Messi was pictured with as a baby, is the most high-profile name on the squad.

Yamal, who wears Messi's former No. 19 at Barca, was recently announced as a signature Adidas player.

Messi also picked out compatriot Claudio Echeverri, who signed for Manchester City in January but remains on loan at River Plate.

Two other City youngsters were included in 'Messi+10', with Joel Ndala and Cavan Sullivan getting the nod.

A £300,000 purchase from Port Vale when he was just 10—18-year-old Ndala is currently on loan at PSV Eindhoven.

Meanwhile 15-year-old Sullivan is the youngest player in MLS history and a contract stipulates he will sign for City when he turns 18.

Plying his trade with the Philadelphia Union in the MLS, he had a picture with Messi on the pitch after a recent game.

Juventus' rising star Kenan Yildiz, RB Leipzig pair Antonio Nusa and Assan Ouedraogo and Monaco's Eliesse Ben Seghir also got Messi's esteemed approval, as did female prospects Jaedyn Shaw and Vicky Lopez.
