Versatile and popular journalist and presenter Nana Aba Anamoah has come under much backlash in the last twelve hours after she made certain comments regarding the galamsey menace in the country. The political atmosphere in the country is rising as the country gets closer to December 7. Communicators and flagbearerParty Supports of the leading two political parties have intensified their campaigns and rhetoric to win the support of Ghanaians. One of the hot issues that will dominate how Ghanaians vote has to do with the galamsey.
The two leading political parties in the country have presented their plans on how they hope to deal with the galamsey menace. In a post on Twitter, Nana Aba Anamoah noted that among the New Patriotic Party and National Democratic Congress, she trusts Bawumia and NAPO to deliver when they are voted into power. She explained that she had listened to both Mahama and Bawumia on how they will deal with galamsey and is certain the latter is the best option for Ghanaians.
This opinion hasn' t gone down well with many supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress. They have criticized her for supporting Bawumia. According to some supporters, Nana Aba is an NPP card- bearing member. Some noted that she was one of the best persons to campaign for Oppong Nkrumah in 2016 when he wanted to stand as MP for Ofoase Ayirebi. They called on her to come clear and state that she is a Bawumia supporter or an influencer who has been paid to campaign for the Vice President. Check out some of the comments.
As the attacks increased, Nana Aba came back with another tweet where she insisted that she stands by her comments that Bawumia is the most trusted when it comes to the galamsey fight.
The biggest attack came from Edem Agbana, aspiring MP for Ketu North. He blasted Nana Aba for insisting on her stand that Bawumia is the best. He called on Nana Aba to stop insulting the intelligence of Ghanaians by using her popularity to silently campaign for Bawumia.
