In a recent viral video, an elderly woman, estimated to be in her 60s or 70s, has delivered a stern and passionate warning to Jean Mensa, Chairperson of Ghana' s Electoral Commission (EC). Her message, directed at Mensa' s family and friends, urged them to caution the EC boss against allegedly manipulating electoral results in favor of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In the video, the woman strongly emphasizes the divine will of God, claiming that no human has the power to alter what God has ordained. " What God has said, no person can change it. God allowed President Akufo- Addo and the NPP to lead so that Ghanaians would understand the true nature of their governance and appreciate what John Mahama did during his tenure. Now, it is time for Mahama to reclaim his rightful position at the Jubilee House. Anyone who attempts to alter God' s plan will face severe consequences, " she warned.
The elderly woman' s impassioned words resonated with some Ghanaians who have expressed similar concerns regarding the transparency of the upcoming elections. According to critics, there are increasing suspicions about Jean Mensa' s impartiality as the head of the Electoral Commission. They claim that she has exhibited behaviors that indicate a bias toward the NPP. Allegations have been made that she has been seen at the NPP headquarters late at night and has not adequately addressed issues related to the voters' register, which has raised concerns over possible errors and omissions.

These individuals fear that if the election results are manipulated, it could lead to public unrest and a betrayal of the country' s democratic principles.
On the other hand, others view the elderly woman' s remarks as baseless propaganda, likely driven by her political allegiance to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC). Some Ghanaians have dismissed her warning, suggesting that there is no tangible evidence to support the claims of election rigging. They argue that such statements only serve to fuel division and create unnecessary tension ahead of the elections.
As the country prepares for the upcoming polls, the role of the Electoral Commission and its leadership remains critical. Jean Mensa, who has been at the helm since 2018, will face continued scrutiny as she navigates one of the most significant electoral events in Ghana' s recent history.
