Sources close to the deal have verified to GHANASoccernet.com that Asante Kotoko is in advanced talks to sign Charles Gyamfi Kamara, an attacking midfielder for the Bibiani Gold Stars.

To strengthen their team before their forthcoming European campaign, the Porcupine Warriors have selected the creative midfielder as a top priority.

Considered the perfect complement to Kotoko's attacking options, Kamara was a key player in the Gold Stars' successful Ghana Premier League season.

There are just a few last things to work out after the two teams' transfer talks advanced considerably.

The 24-year-old playmaker is one of the most sought-after midfielders in the local league thanks to his technical skill and final third vision.

As they get ready to play in both domestic and African competitions next season, Kotoko's technical staff thinks Kamara's inventiveness and goal contributions from the midfield will give their game a fresh perspective.

Although the agreement is still pending, both teams are striving to finalize the transfer in the days ahead.

Kotoko would be making another big acquisition as they continue to reassemble their team in preparation for the upcoming campaign.

With an eye toward the Black Stars' return, Ghanaian defender Baba Rahman is unmoved by jeers.

After more than a year away from the national team, Ghanaian defender Baba Rahman believes he has learnt to handle taunts from supporters and is still open to rejoining the Black Stars.

The left-back, who made an impression for the Greek team PAOK the previous season, claims he is still in communication with the technical staff of the national squad and is getting ready for a potential return.

"The jeering did not phase me during the match, as a pro, you learn to handle that," Rahman told Joy Sports in response to the jeers, which many believed were a major factor in his national team sabbatical. However, as I made my way to the squad bus after the last whistle, it truly hit home," he stated.

Since we had recently won, I naturally expected some support or excitement, but all I got was mockery. It was difficult to swallow that bit.

Despite being dependable for his team and one of Ghana's most improved defenders in recent seasons, Rahman has avoided the Black Stars since that incident. He has also played at a high level, performing exceptionally well in European competitions, such as the Europa League.

Black Stars supporters jeered him during his final game in September 2023 because they thought he had performed poorly in the team's 2-1 victory over the Central African Republic in a qualification match for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Since then, he has declined other invites, including one to play for the team in the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast. The former Chelsea defender clarified that he prefers to concentrate on club football and has declined previous call-ups.

Rahman merely appeared at the team's hotel to welcome them, despite recent rumors that he had ended his national team absence and agreed to join the squad for the Unity Cup in London.

With luck, I will be back soon. The coach and I have maintained constant communication. Just bad timing—every time there is an international break, something seems to go wrong with my fitness. However, I am putting in a lot of work and will be prepared.

Rahman scored two goals in 12 European games and contributed eight goals, five goals, and three assists in 29 Super League games.
