Son of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, Mr Kofi Sam Atta Mills during a recent interview with KSM has shared the emotional story of how his father passed away including the food he ate minutes before his death. According to Kofi, the day began like any other, with no signs of the tragedy that would soon unfold. He had just returned from abroad to visit his father and was looking forward to spending quality time with him.
On that fateful Tuesday, they began the morning with their usual family devotion, and everything seemed normal. Later in the afternoon, Kofi recalled that his aunt came to visit President Mills, and they all had lunch together. However, Kofi didn' t enjoy the food that was served and asked one of the drivers to take him to Osu to get something else to eat. Little did he know that those few minutes away from the house would change his life forever.
Shortly after leaving for Osu, Kofi received a call that would shatter his world: his father had been rushed to the 37 Military Hospital and had passed away. At first, he couldn' t believe the news. Just hours earlier, Professor Mills had been well, going about his usual routine and showing no signs of distress.
For Kofi, it felt like a nightmare, almost like watching a movie unfold, as the suddenness of his father' s death made it hard to accept the reality.
Despite the initial disbelief, Kofi eventually came to terms with the loss, though the shock of that day remains vivid in his memory.
The unexpectedness of his father' s passing continues to haunt him, making the day of his death a deeply painful and unforgettable experience for Kofi and the rest of the Mills family.
