Fantasy Basketball Preview: Atlantic Division

As you prepare for your fantasy basketball drafts, let’s dive into the Atlantic Division for the 2024-25 NBA season.

Boston Celtics

Kristaps Porziņģis' average draft position (ADP) has dropped significantly, now sitting at 106 overall. His anticipated late-December return means he’s a prime draft-and-stash candidate, especially if he falls past the ninth round. Despite needing a ramp-up period, his potential upside is too valuable to ignore.

While Porziņģis is recovering, Jayson Tatum, Derrick White, Jalen Brown, and Jrue Holiday will continue to perform as top-70 players. Keep an eye on Payton Pritchard, who could thrive as a sixth man. With increased minutes, he has shown he can be a reliable fantasy contributor.

New York Knicks

The recent trade has boosted Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns in the rankings. Brunson is now a solid second-round pick, while Towns has jumped from third to second-round value. Under Tom Thibodeau, Towns has the chance to average around 12 rebounds per game and increase his shot-blocking, enhancing his fantasy prospects.

OG Anunoby could also outperform his ADP of 96 if he stays healthy. However, I have some reservations about Mikal Bridges. Although he should theoretically benefit from a supportive role, his shooting form has appeared off this offseason, which could impact his efficiency.

Brooklyn Nets

Cam Thomas is poised for a breakout season. Last year, he was among the few guards under 23 to average at least 20 points per game, showcasing a high usage rate. His improving playmaking skills make him a promising sixth-round pick.

Nic Claxton is reliable for blocks and rebounds, while Cameron Johnson seeks to bounce back from a tough season. Noah Clowney is a late-round option worth considering as the Nets may shift their focus toward future talent.

Philadelphia 76ers

The situation in Philadelphia is tumultuous. Joel Embiid’s “new normal” means he will likely miss back-to-back games and take scheduled breaks throughout the season. This could limit him to around 50-67 games, making him a risky first-round selection. Consider Andre Drummond as a late-round pick for insurance if Embiid's health falters

Prepare wisely for your fantasy draft and consider these insights to enhance your strategy!
