New details have surfaced about the clash between Jordan Ayew and Lawrence Ati Zigi after Ghana' s loss to Sudan on Tuesday, revealing that the confrontation continued in the dressing room. Tensions ran high between Ayew and Ati Zigi after the Black Stars found themselves on the verge of missing out on AFCON qualification for the first time in two decades.

Following Ghana' s 2- 0 defeat to Sudan in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, the pair had to be separated by teammates. A viral video circulating on social media captured their heated exchange.
Although the exact cause of the dispute remains unclear, Joy Sports journalist Muftawu reported that tensions escalated in the dressing room.
Speaking on Hitz FM, the GJA Sports Journalist of the Year shared that his sources revealed the altercation became physical, with blows exchanged between the players.
Muftawu further explained that Ayew had expressed frustration with Ghana' s game plan, criticizing it for prioritizing style over substance. He had urged the team to play more direct and fast- paced football rather than focusing on aesthetics.

A fight erupted, starting on the field and continuing into the dressing room, with Jordan Ayew heavily involved. According to Muftawu, Ayew had previously suggested that the team should stop focusing on playing attractive football and prioritize winning matches.
After the game, frustration and emotions ran high, leading to several altercations on the pitch that spilled into the dressing room. Muftawu added that foul language was exchanged, and things even got physical, with players throwing punches.
The fight involved Jordan, Ati Zigi, and eventually, most of the team. The situation was eventually calmed down, but Ayew made his frustrations clear in the dressing room.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars are still winless in their AFCON qualifying group, having only collected two points from four matches, trailing Sudan and Angola by five and ten points, respectively.
