PROFESSOR MIKE OQUAYE HIGHLIGHTS WHY GHANA IS FORTUNATE TO HAVE JEAN MENSA AS EC CHAIR

Former Speaker of Parliament, Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye, has expressed his firm belief that Ghana is fortunate to have Jean Mensa serving as the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC). In a recent interview with media personality Bola Ray, Professor Oquaye listed several qualities that, in his opinion, make Jean Mensa the right person to oversee Ghana' s elections. 
 
Speaking on the show, Professor Oquaye stated, " Ghana is so lucky to have Jean Mensa as the EC Chair because she has been involved in political parties and election matters for so many years. " He emphasized her extensive experience in the political space, which he believes makes her well- equipped to handle the complexities of electoral processes. Her background, which includes years of involvement with political parties and election- related issues, positions her as someone who understands the inner workings of Ghana' s political and electoral systems. 
A key reason Professor Oquaye highlighted was Jean Mensa' s honesty. According to him, Mensa is known for always telling the truth, no matter the situation. " She is someone who is honest, someone who tells the truth always regardless of the situation, " he said. This characteristic, Oquaye believes, is critical for someone holding such a sensitive and important position, as integrity is crucial to maintaining public confidence in electoral outcomes. 
 
In addition to her integrity, Professor Oquaye commended Mensa' s intelligence, describing her as " brilliant and intelligent. " He noted that she has a deep understanding of the electoral process and is capable of ensuring that accurate results are produced. " Jean Mensa is extremely knowledgeable about the electoral process and will produce accurate results, " he emphasized, underscoring her ability to maintain transparency and fairness in Ghana' s elections. 
In conclusion, Professor Mike Oquaye urged Ghanaians to take the EC Chair role seriously and recognize the exceptional qualities Jean Mensa brings to the table. He reiterated that Mensa' s honesty, brilliance, and extensive experience in the political and electoral arenas make her a valuable asset to Ghana' s democratic process.
