At the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi, forward Albert Amoah's goal in the first half gave Asante Kotoko a vital victory over defending champions Samartex.

As they continue to have a strong run at their temporary home, Kotoko's 1-0 victory moved them back into second position on the league table with one game remaining.

Kotoko outplayed a faltering Samartex team and controlled the majority of the ball in the game. The champs managed four shots on goal, but they were unable to get any of them on target.

On the other hand, Kotoko's perseverance paid off in the 31st minute when Amoah scored. After Samartex's defense was unable to clear a strike, the forward took advantage of the situation and coolly slotted the ball past the goalie.

At Len Clay, where they are still undefeated, Kotoko won for the second time in a row. In the meantime, Samartex's title defense woes grew worse as they played the game without any bite and were unable to stop Kotoko's supremacy.

Samartex will need to rapidly reorganize in order to get their campaign back on track, while Kotoko's strong performance strengthens their push for a title challenge.

In a thrilling match against Legon Cities in the middle of the week, Kotoko might take the lead, while Samartex will play Berekum Chelsea.
