In his sermon on October 20, 2024, the bishop defended his son, emphasizing that the incident was purely accidental.
"It was an accident. My son did not carry a gun to kill someone. He was involved in a terrible accident. I wasn’t behind the wheel; neither was his mother," Bishop Amoako stated. He attributed the case's attention to his public status, remarking, "It is because of my name that the matter is everywhere. If this car had hit an Okada, would anyone mention it? It's all because of my name. Let’s see what the Lord will do."
