Following a potential knee injury sustained during Arsenal's 1-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk, an injury expert has rendered a decision on Riccardo Calafiori. With the win at the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners moved up to seven points out of nine in the Champions League group stages. However, Calafiori's knee injury halfway through the second half raised further concerns about injuries.

Myles Lewis-Skelly took his place after he tried to continue but was unable to finish the match.Arsenal supporters were instantly worried that Calafiori had sustained a significant knee injury given the extension after his leg went into the ground after social media replays of the incident surfaced. Physio Scout, a football injury expert, has now rendered a decision about the Arsenal left-back's possible injury diagnosis.

According to the expert, the knee's motion is more suggestive of a medial collateral ligament (MCL) damage than an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, despite fans' concerns. The report goes on to say: "Physio was also observed conducting a valgus stress test, which evaluates the MCL's structure. Let's hope it's just a slight to moderate MCL sprain, but scans are required. Calafiori may be out for up to 10 weeks if he gets a Grade 3 MCL damage.

Calafiori's fitness is now a concern for Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta ahead of this weekend's match against Liverpool, which the Italian now appears almost certain to miss.In addition to fellow defenders Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jurrien Timber being injured, William Saliba is suspended and will miss the match.Oleksandr Zinchenko, who can play left back, was not deployed in the victory over Shakhtar because he had just recovered from a calf injury that had kept him out since the middle of September.http//Read more:
