Joshua Zirkzee has been linked to a move away, and Manchester United supporters have apparently seen what he done on Instagram. Zirkzee, 23, moved from Bologna, an Italian Serie A team, to United during the summer transfer window for an estimated £36.5 million. The Dutchman scored against Fulham on his Premier League debut the first weekend, capping off an outstanding start to life at Old Trafford.
Since then, though, Zirkzee has struggled and has lost ten games without scoring.Six months after joining United, Zirkzee may be seeking a move during the January transfer window, according to reports on Tuesday. Journalist Daniele Longo of Calciomercato claims that the Dutchman may already be considering leaving Old Trafford. If his luck at the Red Devils does not improve, he "hopes" to return to Serie A during the January transfer window.
Supporters also noticed Zirkzee "liking" an Instagram video that made fun of his on-field stance. The creator was posing as Zirkzee, according to The Sun, and was demonstrating his apparent inability to play as a striker by repeatedly sliding deep into midfield or down the wide areas.Zirkzee acknowledged that he frequently drops into midfield when he first joined the team.
"I sometimes drop down to midfield," he remarked. I do that to support the team, not for myself. "I consider myself to be a false striker. It's neither a No 9 nor a No 10. My score is 9.5. My game is that. Perhaps I'm a little different from other people. But it's wonderful to be different, isn't it? "Joshua Zirkzee did well at Bologna, but it's a different game here in England and especially at Manchester United," said Paul Merson, a former England and Arsenal star, in reference to Zirkzee. At this club, you're constantly being watched, and if you lose an opportunity or don't receive one, it's always a topic of conversation.
