Charles Taylor, a former forward for Asante Kotoko, has stated that he thinks the team has a stronger sporting reputation than the Black Stars.
In contrast to the Black Stars, who only play sometimes, Taylor contended that Kotoko's players are more active and fit since they play games every week.
According to him, Kotoko players have an advantage over their national team colleagues in terms of fitness and preparedness because of their regular play.
Taylor said there are players in the domestic league who are talented enough to have an impact on the Black Stars, notwithstanding Ghana's lackluster performance in the African Nations Championship (CHAN), which is played by players from the country.
He claimed that one factor contributing to the Black Stars' difficulties has been the exclusion of local players from the national squad.
Taylor claims that adding more players from the local area will increase team rivalry and motivate players from other countries to perform better.
"I am confident that local players would perform well for the nation if we give them the opportunity. A player like Justice Blay is unfit to play for Asante Kotoko if he is unable to play for the Black Stars. He told Angel TV, "This is because Kotoko is bigger than Black Stars."
