The Ghana Police Service has apprehended Fatawu Ibrahim, popularly known as Fatau Motorway, one of the suspects linked to the recent violent clash between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Mamobi, a suburb of Accra. The arrest comes after days of pursuit, following a public appeal by the police for information on his whereabouts.
The incident, which took place on October 13, 2024, resulted in heightened tensions between the two political factions in the area. During the altercation, Fatawu Ibrahim was seen in a video brandishing a firearm, which raised public concern and intensified the search for him.
