With a hat-trick in the second half of Real Madrid's 5-2 Champions League victory over Borussia Dortmund on October 22, the Brazilian strengthened his chances of winning the prized award.
Although the winger has always had potential, his performance has improved recently.With his goal in the Champions League final in the 2-0 victory against Dortmund last season, he played a crucial part in Real Madrid's double-winning triumph. His season total now stands at 24 goals in 39 games. He has now scored eight goals and provided seven assists in his 14 games this season, continuing his excellent play.
Given his age, it is reasonable to believe Vini Jr. will remain at Madrid for the best years of his career if he can avoid injuries.
