Mfantsipim School emerged victorious in the 2024 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), marking their third championship title in the competition’s history. Held on October 30, 2024, at the University of Cape Coast’s New Examination Centre, this final showdown was an intense intellectual contest among Ghana's top academic institutions, with Mfantsipim narrowly defeating Saint Augustine’s College by a single point, scoring 47 against 46. Keta Senior High Technical School completed the competition in third place with 32 points.
The NSMQ, founded in 1993, is a highly respected event that encourages excellence in science and mathematics across Ghanaian senior high schools. This year's competition began with 157 schools, which were gradually narrowed down to the final three through various rounds of eliminations. Mfantsipim’s performance, led by standout contestant Isaac Mensah, was particularly impressive, as they previously eliminated the reigning champions, Presbyterian Boys' Secondary School (PRESEC), in the semifinals. The victory adds to Mfantsipim’s NSMQ legacy, with their previous wins in 1999 and 2014 cementing their status as a powerhouse in Ghanaian education.
