Ghanaian Twitter influencer and Fix The Country initiator Kalyjay has alleged that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and his team offered him a $50,000 bribe to promote their narrative, which he declined.

In response to critics who claim he is protesting against the ruling NPP because he has been paid by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kalyjay took to Twitter today to set the record straight.

He shared multiple tweets refuting these allegations and revealing the substantial sum he turned down from the NPP and other political parties.

Kalyjay explained that during a meeting in Brasa, he was offered $50,000 to support and promote the NPP on his social media platforms for six months due to his influence.

The arrangement involved creating an NGO through which the payment would be processed, and they even requested an invoice from him to facilitate the transaction.

He emphasized that he continued to criticize the NPP’s governance and, upon realizing he wouldn’t support them, they distanced themselves from him.

Kalyjay also mentioned previous meetings with Team Alan Kyerematen, where he prepared a social media strategy without any financial agreements, expressing his willingness to assist them.

Additionally, he had interactions with the head of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), which similarly lacked financial arrangements.

Kalyjay recounted how he first engaged with the NDC during the Fix The Country campaign, noting that their objectives aligned.

He stated clearly that he maintains a neutral stance with all political parties and cannot be labeled as someone pursuing better governance for financial gain.
