Ghana Police Academy Commissions 430 New Officers in Record-Breaking Cadet Graduation
In a significant milestone for the Ghana Police Service, 430 cadet officers were formally commissioned into the Senior Officer Corps on October 30, 2024. The graduation ceremony, held at the Police Training School in Tesano, Accra, was a vibrant event attended by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who led the proceedings. Also present were representatives from various security agencies, Interior Minister Henry Quartey, and Greater Accra Regional Minister Daniel Titus Glover.
This graduating class, known as Cadet Course 53, consists of 305 men and 125 women, marking the largest intake of cadet officers since the Ghana Police Academy’s inception. This year’s intake broke the previous record set by Cadet Course 52, which saw the graduation of 344 officers. The ceremony emphasized the Police Service’s dedication to strengthening its workforce and fostering diversity within its ranks.
