1. Citrus Fruits


Oranges, lemons, and grapefruits are examples of fruits with high acidic content. They cause heartburn, acid reflux, or gastritis if taken when the stomach is empty. Of course, they contain vitamin C, but it is better to have them later in the day to help your digestive system, which will be working full on by then.


2. Bananas


They are rich in potassium and fiber but contain an awful lot of magnesium, which upsets the balance of its companion mineral, potassium, when they are taken in on an empty stomach without any pre-digested foods. Its effects can be offset by combining them with healthy fats or proteins.


3. Apples

5. Watermelon


Watermelon is cool and refreshing; because of the high water content, it may interfere with the digestion process of stomach acids. Taking on an empty stomach can cause discomfort in your digestive system, including cramping or diarrhea. On the other hand, watermelon taken as a snack or dessert after meals helps with digestion.
