Stonebwoy Explains Why Skrewfaze Won't Feature on Jejereje Remix

Stonebwoy, the renowned Afro-dancehall musician, has revealed why a collaboration with Skrewfaze for a Jejereje remix will not be happening, despite the wishes of many fans. In a recent interview on Onua Showtime with Nana Ama McBrown on November 3, 2024, Stonebwoy explained that while fans have expressed interest in a remix featuring Skrewfaze, the collaboration would not yield significant commercial benefits. He emphasized that such a feature would only be for the "niceness" of it, rather than offering any real commercial value to the song.

Stonebwoy acknowledged the public's enthusiasm for the idea, noting that when Jejereje was released, many people, including Skrewfaze himself, were excited about the potential collaboration. Skrewfaze even made a video expressing his appreciation for the song. However, Stonebwoy explained that from a business perspective, the song's geographical and commercial landscape does not support a feature with Skrewfaze that would drive further success. While he has plans for several remixes of Jejereje, he insists that future collaborations must be commercially viable and not simply cater to fan desires.

Stonebwoy also clarified that decisions regarding which artists appear on his tracks are not made by him alone, as his management plays a key role in such choices. He suggested that Skrewfaze, who has been in the industry for over two decades, could have independently created his own version of Jejereje using the same beat, especially if the song inspired him. Instead of waiting for an invitation, Skrewfaze could have seized the moment and released a remix on his own.

The idea of a Skrewfaze remix gained traction among fans, who noted that Jejereje shared similarities with Skrewfaze's earlier music style. The possibility of both artists collaborating was particularly exciting to fans who felt the song's sound mirrored Skrewfaze’s distinct musical approach.

Skrewfaze, a seasoned artist known for hits like Gbalagazaa, Bue Bue, Maabena, Ogogologo, and Too Fast, has made a lasting impact on the music scene over the past two decades. However, despite fan interest, Stonebwoy’s comments make it clear that a Jejereje remix featuring Skrewfaze is unlikely to happen in the near future.
