The Overlord of Dagbon, Yaa Naa Mahama Abukari Gariba II, recently commended Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for his dedication and reliability in fulfilling promises. The acknowledgment came during a visit by Dr. Opoku Prempeh and his delegation to the Gbewaa Palace, where they sought the Overlord’s blessings and support as they geared up for their electoral campaign.
Yaa Naa Mahama Abukari II shared his appreciation for Dr. Opoku Prempeh's previous actions, noting that his commitment to keeping promises had been evident during his tenure as Minister for Energy. The Overlord recounted how, during an earlier visit to the Gbewaa Palace, he had requested electrification projects in his region. True to his word, Dr. Opoku Prempeh, commonly known as "NAPO," promptly initiated and completed the requested projects. The Yaa Naa highlighted this as a shining example of NAPO’s accountability and devotion to public service, affirming his respect for leaders who honor their commitments.
Beyond the words of commendation, the Overlord expressed his hopes for a peaceful election, calling on Dr. Opoku Prempeh and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to prioritize unity and harmony during their campaign and beyond. His words underscored the importance of maintaining peace in the electoral process, a sentiment that resonates deeply within the Dagbon community and the broader nation.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh was joined by a distinguished group of NPP leaders, including the party’s General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua; the National Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye; MP for Yendi, Farouk Aliu Mahama; MP for Gushegu and Deputy Minister for Transport, Hassan Tampuli; as well as senior campaign aides and parliamentary candidates from across the Dagbon enclave.
With the blessing of the Yaa Naa, the NPP's leaders expressed their gratitude and continued on their campaign trail, inspired by the Overlord’s goodwill.
