Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus sends a message to Mikel Arteta about his lack of playing time.
Gabriel Jesus has fallen down the attacking pecking order at Arsenal this season, but he has outlined his determination to turn his situation around as the Gunners attempt to get their campaign back on track.
Gabriel Jesus has expressed his dissatisfaction with his lack of minutes at Arsenal this season.
The Brazilian attacker, who came on as a half-time substitute in Arsenal's disappointing 1-0 Champions League defeat to Inter Milan on Wednesday night, has started only five of Arsenal's 16 games in all competitions this season.
Jesus has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates, and he was recently left out of Brazil's World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Uruguay due to a lack of playing time.
After last night's loss at the San Siro, Jesus stated to TNT Sports Brasil that he believes all players, including himself, want more minutes.I'm obviously not going to cause any problems at the club; instead, I'm going to try to demonstrate on a daily basis, in training, and when I get into the games, take my chance, do my thing, and trust that things will work out.
"I've always made it clear that I want to improve, that I want to give my all and help Arsenal.
"Clearly, my opportunity is not the best, it's not the moment I wanted, or that I would like, but as I said, I'm working on my own, trying to do my best and get more minutes to play, but that's a result of my training, a result of the way I get in and leave the decision to the coach.
"I believe in my potential, and I also know that the fight for my place in Arsenal is big, but I also believe that I can help a lot."
Palmeiras, Jesus' former club, recently expressed interest in bringing the 27-year-old back to South America.
Arsenal, on the other hand, quickly rejected their advances, indicating that Jesus remains part of their immediate plans, even if his long-term future in north London is uncertain.
Palmeiras president Leila Pereira stated last month: "Gabriel Jesus is not coming. We contacted Arsenal, and they said, "Leila, there are no conditions." We will not negotiate for the player.' "The subject is thus closed."
