Gabriel Jesus has expressed his annoyance with Arsenal's lack of playing time this season. The Brazilian forward has started just five of Arsenal's 16 games in all competitions this season.

He was a halftime replacement in the Gunners' heartbreaking 1-0 Champions League loss at Inter Milan on Wednesday night. Because of his lack of playing time, Jesus has dropped in the Emirates' hierarchy and was recently pulled out of Brazil's team for their next World Cup qualifying matches against Uruguay and Venezuela. Following yesterday night's defeat at the San Siro, Jesus told TNT Sports Brasil, "Well, I believe that not only me, but any player, all players, want to have more minutes." Jesus has now promised to try to change his fortunes.

"Obviously, I'm not going to cause any trouble in the club. I'm going to try to show that every day in training and when I play, I'll have my chance, do what I want, and trust that things will work out." "I've consistently stated my desire to get better, give it my all, and support Arsenal. Naturally, I'm not having the best moment or the one I wanted or would want, but like I mentioned, I'm working hard on my own and attempting to play more minutes. However, that's a result of my training and how I enter the game; the coach makes the final choice.

"Although I am aware that the competition for my spot at Arsenal is fierce, I still think I can contribute significantly." Former Palmeiras were interested in bringing Jesus back to South America, and they recently sought the 27-year-old. Even though it's unknown how long Jesus will stay in north London, Arsenal quickly turned down their advances because he is still part of their short-term plans. Last month, Palmeiras president Leila Pereira declared: "Gabriel Jesus will not be arriving. When we contacted Arsenal, they informed us that there were no conditions at all, Leila. We won't bargain on the player's behalf. As a result, the matter is resolved.
