Kwabena Boakye, better known in the entertainment world as Copson and famously known as actress Vivian Jill’s grandson, has opened up about a past conflict with Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin. In a recent interview with Dave Hammer on Hello FM, Boakye revealed how Lilwin allegedly scammed him and his team during the production of a movie some years ago. The revelation sheds light on why Boakye, despite having worked with numerous other actors, has never shared the screen with Lilwin again.
According to Boakye, the tension between him and Lilwin began when they hired the actor for a movie. The team paid Lilwin to feature in the film, but just days before the premiere, Boakye claims Lilwin made an unexpected demand. He allegedly called the production team and insisted on more money than what had already been agreed upon, threatening that he would not show up for the movie premiere unless his demands were met. Boakye explained that the team, already financially strained, could not afford to increase the payment.
In addition to this, Boakye said that they asked Lilwin to record an endorsement video to promote the movie premiere, which was crucial for drawing a large audience. However, Lilwin refused, saying he couldn’t endorse an event he wasn’t attending. Boakye found this refusal particularly frustrating, as it felt like Lilwin was acting out of selfishness.
The situation took a further turn when, just a few days later, Boakye claimed he saw Lilwin endorsing another movie in which he was not featured. This inconsistency angered Boakye, who didn’t hold back in confronting Lilwin. He accused him of being hypocritical and selfish, and their heated exchange led to a long-standing feud between the two.
Despite the bitterness of their fallout, Boakye revealed that after some time apart, the two have now made peace. He emphasized that the animosity between them has been resolved, and they are no longer at odds. While Boakye was candid about the difficult experience, he expressed relief that the tension had finally been put to rest.
This disclosure adds to the drama and intrigue often surrounding the Kumawood industry, where personal conflicts sometimes spill over into professional relationships, but also highlights the possibility for reconciliation even after deep disagreements.
