In less than 25 days, Ghanaians will be going to the polls once again to elect a President and 275 members of Parliament in a historic general elections.

This year's  elections will usher in a new leader, as the current President, Nana Akufo-Addo steps down after completing his constitutionally limited second term in office. This will mark Ghana’s fifth presidential succession since the return to democratic multiparty politics in 1992, augmenting Ghana’s reputation for having institutionalized predictable and rules-based presidential transitions.

Come December 7, 2024 elections; as typical of the Fourth Republic, will see the two main parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), led by the incumbent Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) also led by former President John Dramani Mahama.

Whiles the flagbearer of the NPP Dr. Bawumia is preaching digitization for economic transformation, Former President Mahama is promising more jobs and economic growth through a "24hour Economy" policy.

As usual in Ghana's election years, there are debates from voters with opposing views (when it comes to who is best for the Presidency); and there are also many opinion polls coming from different sources.

Polls uses survey instruments to elicit and record people’s opinions, attitudes, and personal information. Instruments can be designed to capture data by asking open-ended questions of voters and recording answers in their own words.

Modern polls are a form of survey research using a random sample of the population to produce as accurate a picture of public opinion as possible, while still accounting for a margin of error.

In the recent Opinion Poll conducted on Twitter (X), 15,067 respondents were sampled; and the following question was asked:"Between the "Digitization Policy" by Dr. Bawumia and the "24-hour Economy" by John Mahama; Which One Do You Believe will Boost Ghana's Economic Growth And Create More Jobs?

Below are the answers from the respondents.

John Dramani Mahama- 11,813 (78.6%)

 Dr. Mahamadu Bawumi: - 3,254 (21.4%)

Total number of votes: 15,067 as at November 11, 2024.

What is your personal view..."Between the "Digitization Policy" by Dr. Bawumia and the "24-hour Economy" by John Mahama; Which One Do You Believe will Boost Ghana's Economic Growth And Create More Jobs?

PLEASE NOTE, that, this poll result is not intended to create fear and panic; before, during and after the general elections. These are results gathered from the opinions of some Ghanaians on Twitter (X). It is an expression of people’s view, and does not represent the final results in the December 7, 2024 genera; elections.
