"Barcelona to be without Lewandowski and Yamal due to injuries"
Barcelona will be without two of their key forwards, Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal, due to injuries sustained over the weekend. Lewandowski, the club’s veteran striker, picked up a back injury during Barcelona's 1-0 loss to Real Sociedad on Sunday. According to the club, the 36-year-old is dealing with discomfort in the lumbar region of his back, and he will be sidelined for approximately 10 days.
This injury will cause Lewandowski to miss Poland's Nations League fixtures against Portugal and Scotland. However, the Polish international is expected to return for Barcelona’s next La Liga match against Celta Vigo on November 23.
In addition to Lewandowski, 17-year-old Lamine Yamal also sustained an injury ahead of the international break. Yamal missed the match against Real Sociedad with a right ankle injury, and Barcelona confirmed that the young forward will be out for two to three weeks. As a result, Yamal will miss Spain’s upcoming Nations League fixtures against Denmark and Switzerland. His absence also means he will miss Barcelona’s La Liga match against Celta Vigo and could be a doubt for their Champions League clash against Brest on November 26, along with their La Liga match against Las Palmas.
Despite their injuries, both players have been in impressive form this season. Lewandowski has scored 17 goals across all competitions, and he remains the top scorer in La Liga. Yamal, though still early in his career, has netted six goals in 15 appearances this season. Barcelona will need to adjust in their upcoming fixtures without these two important players, particularly as they sit in sixth place in the Champions League and are currently six points ahead of Real Madrid in La Liga, albeit having played one more match than their rivals.
