Meeting with Clergy: Prophet Condemns Mahama Over Alleged 'Feud' with Mrs. Rawlings
In a fiery address, a prominent prophet has publicly criticized former President John Dramani Mahama over his purported ongoing dispute with Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, wife of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings. The prophet, known for his outspoken nature, took the opportunity to voice his concerns during a recent gathering with clergy members and congregants, emphasizing the need for unity and respect among political leaders in Ghana.
During the meeting, the prophet expressed his frustration with what he described as “division and animosity” within Ghana’s political elite, which he claims is affecting the unity and progress of the nation. Speaking passionately, he warned that such alleged feuds, if left unchecked, could lead to increased polarization in the country. According to him, both Mahama and Nana Konadu, as respected figures with significant influence, must set an example by reconciling their differences for the sake of peace and national cohesion.
“Ghana’s leadership has a responsibility not only to govern but to lead by example,” the prophet stated. “It is disheartening to see leaders who once worked side by side now embroiled in bitterness and division. We must remember that unity in leadership is essential for the well-being of this nation, especially during these critical times.” He urged the two figures to rise above any personal grievances, reminding them of the positive legacy of President Rawlings, whose impact on Ghana’s history and development remains widely acknowledged.
The alleged tensions between Mahama and Mrs. Rawlings have been the subject of public speculation, with reports hinting at strained relations between the two since Rawlings' passing. Mahama, who served as President from 2012 to 2017, was a close ally of Rawlings and a key figure in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), a party that Rawlings himself founded. However, the relationship with Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, who has had her own political ambitions and even contested in elections as an independent candidate, has reportedly been less than amicable.
Addressing the clergy and audience members, the prophet reminded them of the importance of forgiveness and reconciliation. He urged his listeners to pray for national unity and for leaders to put aside any disagreements for the greater good of Ghana. “The Lord calls us to forgive, to put away pride, and to unite. If our leaders cannot show us the way, then we must pray even harder for divine intervention,” he said.
The gathering ended with a prayer session, during which the prophet led the clergy and congregation in a collective call for peace and wisdom for Ghana's leaders. As the nation looks ahead to upcoming elections, calls for unity and reconciliation within the political class are likely to intensify, with religious leaders continuing to play a key role in promoting peace and unity across the country.
