Real Madrid may be forced to make a high-profile sale next summer, reportedly due to a significant drop in revenue following the cancellation of non-football events at the renovated Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
According to Relevo, citing unnamed sources, the club is open to offers for key players as it contends with financial challenges. Despite the $1 billion renovation completed over recent years, intended to transform the Bernabeu into a multipurpose venue, Real Madrid has had to cancel concerts and other non-soccer events due to a noise dispute involving local residents and the city council.
This dispute has put a halt on all external events until at least April 2025, severely impacting the club's anticipated income streams. With the stadium unable to generate expected revenue, Real Madrid could be looking at selling several high-profile players. Key names reportedly on the table include Andy Lunin, Antonio Rudiger, Vinicius Jr., Eduardo Camavinga, and Rodrygo.
However, some reports, such as SPORT, suggest Aurelien Tchouameni might be the first to leave. The French midfielder, who joined from AS Monaco for an initial $85 million (€80 million) in 2022, could fetch over $100 million if sold. Currently sidelined by injury, Tchouameni has faced scrutiny for his performances and even received whistles from fans during a recent Champions League loss to AC Milan. Among the potential departures, Vinicius Jr. stands out as the player likely to attract the highest bids.
According to Fichajes, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is reportedly prepared to break the world transfer record, currently held by Neymar’s $265 million move from Barcelona, by offering €250 million for Vinicius. The Brazilian star has additional interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, while Rudiger is also attracting offers from the Middle East. Premier League clubs could be possible destinations for Rodrygo, Lunin, Camavinga, and Tchouameni, with Liverpool having previously shown interest in the Frenchman.
This financial situation could also affect Real Madrid's ability to pursue new stars. Despite President Florentino Perez’s aim to create a new generation of Galacticos, the club will need to manage its resources carefully to land coveted targets like Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz.
