The Head of the Holy City Prophetic Ministry, Prophet William Braham, has declared that the Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will be the next President of Ghana. In a prophecy given during his live broadcast last Sunday, political discussions in every nook and corner of the country went haywire as many interpreted the statement as an act of endorsement of Bawumia's political fortunes.
Prophet Braham therefore said the future of Ghana is bright with Bawumia, basing his prophecy on what God had shown him for the past weeks. "God has shown me that Dr. Bawumia will lead Ghana in the next election and his vision for the country would bring prosperity and peace," he declared. He further explained that the ruling political and economic difficulties besetting the nation would give way to a new era of growth and stability during a Bawumia presidency.
Bawumia, the country's vice president since 2017, is generally viewed as one of the key figures in the New Patriotic Party. His candidacy for the 2024 elections has been a subject of speculation, now that the NPP will hold its presidential primaries. Prophet Braham's declaration sets fire to speculations about the future of Bawumia in Ghanaian politics.
However, some Bawumia supporters have been full of hope from the prophecy, with many saying that he is the right man who should lead Ghana out of the economic problems bedeviling it-as characteristically observed by high inflation and unemployment-and his appeal for a digital transformation and modernization of the Ghana economy. These resonated with most young voters, who viewed him as a visionary capable of taking the wheels and moving the nation forward.
However, some critics have warned that political prophecies are unpredictable, and the political journey of Bawumia will depend on his unifying prowess to bring cohesion into the party and the nation. As Ghana prepares for the 2024 general elections, all eyes will be on the NPP's decision and whether Prophet Braham's prediction will come to pass.
