Binduri MP Donates 8 Motorbikes to Enhance Education Monitoring
In a bid to improve educational oversight and boost student performance in the Binduri District, the Member of Parliament for Binduri, Hon. Abdulai Abanga, has donated eight motorbikes to the district’s education office. This gesture aims to strengthen the capacity of education officers to monitor and support schools across the district, especially in remote areas that are often difficult to access.
During a brief handover ceremony held at the district education office, Hon. Abanga emphasized the importance of education as the foundation of community development. He expressed his commitment to supporting efforts that ensure quality education for all students in the district, regardless of their geographical location. "Education is the bedrock of development, and we must do all we can to ensure that our children have access to the best resources and support. These motorbikes will enable our dedicated education officers to reach even the most remote schools and provide the necessary guidance to teachers and students," he stated.
The MP highlighted that many schools in the Binduri District face logistical challenges due to the lack of adequate transportation facilities. This situation, he noted, often hinders effective supervision and monitoring, which are crucial for maintaining high educational standards. By providing these motorbikes, Hon. Abanga hopes to address this challenge, allowing education officers to carry out their duties more effectively and consistently.
Mr. Charles Atinga, the Binduri District Director of Education, received the motorbikes on behalf of the education office. He expressed gratitude to the MP for the timely intervention, noting that the motorbikes would significantly ease the workload of the education officers. "This is a great relief to us. Monitoring and supervision are essential components of our work, and with these motorbikes, our officers can now reach schools that were previously difficult to access. This support from our MP is a testament to his commitment to education in Binduri," Mr. Atinga said.
Several education officers present at the event expressed their appreciation for the gesture, underscoring the impact the motorbikes would have on their work. They explained that reaching some schools often required long hours of walking or expensive transport arrangements, which strained their capacity to provide effective support and supervision. The donation, they believe, will greatly improve their mobility and enable them to carry out regular and comprehensive assessments of schools, leading to better learning outcomes for students.
Parents and community members have also welcomed the initiative, expressing optimism that improved supervision will lead to higher standards in the district’s schools. Many parents who spoke during the ceremony emphasized the importance of quality education in shaping the future of their children and commended Hon. Abanga for his efforts to support the sector.
Hon. Abdulai Abanga's intervention aligns with his broader vision of addressing educational challenges in Binduri. In recent months, he has spearheaded several initiatives aimed at improving the infrastructure and resources available to schools in the district. His focus on education is part of a wider agenda to foster social and economic growth within Binduri and create better opportunities for its youth.
The Binduri MP concluded the ceremony by reiterating his commitment to education and encouraging the education officers to make full use of the motorbikes to ensure a sustained improvement in the monitoring and quality of education across the district.
