Ghanaians Have Endorsed Your Independent Candidacy – Yaa Naa Tells Alan Kyerematen

In a significant development ahead of the 2024 general elections, the Yaa Naa, His Majesty Abukari II, has expressed his support for Alan Kyerematen's independent presidential bid. Speaking during a courtesy visit by the former Trade Minister to the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi, the revered king described Mr. Kyerematen's decision as a bold and strategic move that resonates with many Ghanaians.

The Yaa Naa acknowledged Mr. Kyerematen’s longstanding service to the nation and his contributions to industrialization, notably through the One District, One Factory initiative. According to the overlord of Dagbon, the independent candidacy of Mr. Kyerematen reflects a growing desire among Ghanaians for leadership that transcends partisan politics and prioritizes national unity.

“Your decision to run as an independent candidate is a sign of your commitment to serve all Ghanaians without the constraints of party affiliations,” Yaa Naa Abukari II said. “The people have shown their endorsement of your vision for a better Ghana. Your track record speaks volumes, and I believe you are well-positioned to unite this country and bring about the development we all desire.”

Mr. Kyerematen, who launched his independent campaign under the “Movement for Change,” expressed gratitude to the Yaa Naa for his warm reception and encouragement. He reiterated his resolve to lead a government focused on economic transformation, youth empowerment, and inclusive growth.

“I am deeply humbled by your words, Your Majesty. This endorsement strengthens my belief that Ghanaians are ready for a new direction – one that is inclusive, visionary, and focused on progress. I assure you and the people of Dagbon of my unwavering commitment to serve diligently,” Mr. Kyerematen stated.

The visit to the Gbewaa Palace was part of Alan Kyerematen’s nationwide tour to engage traditional leaders, community stakeholders, and the general public. His independent candidacy has been the subject of widespread discussion, with many Ghanaians expressing support for his vision of charting a new political course.

As the 2024 elections draw closer, Mr. Kyerematen’s campaign continues to gain momentum, with endorsements from key figures like the Yaa Naa boosting his credibility. Political analysts note that his decision to run independently could significantly reshape Ghana’s political landscape.

The visit ended with a symbolic presentation of traditional items by the Yaa Naa, signifying his blessings for Mr. Kyerematen’s campaign.
