The Vice President of Ghana and running mate to the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has asked the party faithful to remain united as the country gets closer to the all-important 2024 elections. At a rally on Saturday, Bawumia underscored that only when the party is united can there be surety of victory, and a better future for the nation.

Addressing hundreds of party supporters, Bawumia called on the rank and file of the NPP to put aside their differences and rally behind the leadership of the party. "This election is a defining moment for our nation," said Bawumia. "It is very important that we remain united to ensure our victory, as division amongst us will only retard our progress."

The Vice President, who has been at the centre of most of the party's electoral campaigns, stressed that all hands are required on board to win and build on the gains made so far by the current government. He highlighted major gains in infrastructure, education, and digital transformation under the leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo and reaffirmed that the NPP remains committed to pushing these initiatives further in the next term.

Bawumia also reechoed the party's commitment to addressing the economic challenges facing the country. "We know many of our fellow Ghanaians have toiled through tough times, but we are committed to turning this economy around. With your support, we will continue to focus on policies that uplift the lives of all citizens," he said.

The Vice President's comments come with the NPP gearing up for what many pundits have tipped to be a keen election. Bawumia's unity call also points at how the party intends to retain cohesion and discipline in its rank and file as it enters the homestretch of campaigning.

Closer to the election, his message of solidarity has struck a cord in the mind of many in the party-that with the effort of all, the NPP will win another term. With good leadership and with all people soldering into a united front, Bawumia says, the Party should be able to surmount any obstacle and win the 2024 elections.
