This an interesting story of a little bird, who is often underestimated due to its size. On day, the bird finds itself being hunted by a cunning and experienced hunter. Determined to survive, the bird uses its intelligence, agility, and quick thinking to evade capture.
We have learn, from people of the old; that the most valuable things in nature are hidden for men to seek and find. And when they are found, they must be cherished and loved.
Once upon a time, a hunter was walking alone in the forest.
Whiles deep inside the forest, he caught a bird.
When the bird was still in his hand, it cried out:
“Please don’t kill me, “Please don’t kill me, please, do not kill me,
I can tell you FOUR things that will make you rich”.
“What are they?” asked the hunter.
“Number 1, you must keep what you get.”
Then quickly the hunter replied, “Ok, I will do that”
“Now, the second thing that will make you rich” said the bird.
“You must not cry for what you cannot have”
Again the hunter replied, “Ok, I will do that”
“The number 3 thing that will make you rich” said the bird.
“You must not think,
Because if you do, your mind will tell you many things that may not be true”
Then the hunter replied, “I will remember that”
“Now, the fourth and the final thing that will make you rich” said the bird.
“You see that big tall tree over there?
“Allow me to fly into it, and then I will tell you the fourth thing that will make you rich”
Quickly the hunter allowed the bird to fly away into the tree.
Upon reaching there, the bird turned to the hunter and asked him:
“What…was the first thing I told you to do?
“You said I must keep what I get.” The hunter replied,
Then the bird asked: “why did you allowed me to go then?”
“Now I will tell you the fourth thing that will make you rich” said the bird.
“Look at me well…inside my body, is gold as big as your head”
Immediately, the man started crying. Then the bird asked him again:
“What was the second thing I told you?” the man replied:
“You said I must not cry for what I cannot have.”
Then the man started thinking.
Then the bird asked the hunter: “what was the third thing I told you?”
“You said I must not think, because if I do,
my mind will tell me many things that may not be true.”
The bird asked the hunter to stop thinking and it then flew away.
SYMBOLISM:
1. The tiny bird in the story represents vulnerability and resilience.
2. The cunning hunter symbolizes power and oppression.
MORAL LESSON:
1. Size doesn't determine one's strength or ability.
2. Intelligence and adaptability can overcome adversity.
3. Never underestimate others based on appearance.
It is a natural rule, to be thankful for any achievements we made, no matter how small.It is so beautiful to cherish and value what we get and what we have now… and work towards achieving more. We must never trade, or let go what we have in exchange of what we have not seen; else we’ll end up losing today and tomorrow. We must develop the habit of keeping, cherishing and be content.
No matter the situation or the condition, we must never ignore the people or things we have in our lives, because if we do, we might end up losing the moon while counting the stars.
