Former Arsenal forward Jeremie Aliadiere has voiced his support for a potential move for Nunez, citing the Uruguayan as a dream addition to the team. Despite Nunez playing for rival club Liverpool, Aliadiere expressed his admiration for the striker, particularly his work ethic and ability to stretch defenses with his runs. He highlighted Nunez's determination and his contribution to the team, even when the ball doesn’t come to him directly. According to Aliadiere, while Nunez might not always be the most clinical finisher, his pace and relentless pressing make him a valuable asset for any team. “I love his runs, his work rate, and his ability to make defenders uncomfortable,” Aliadiere said.
Havertz, who has scored seven goals this season, has seen his form dip recently, while Jesus has struggled with just one goal in 15 appearances. Aliadiere believes Jesus could potentially step into the No. 9 role, but doubts whether he is the long-term solution. "Jesus is not a typical striker,” he explained. “He likes to drop deep, get involved in the build-up play, and that’s not always what you need in a traditional No. 9." Aliadiere emphasized that a true No. 9 should be capable of running in behind the defense and creating space for others.
Arsenal’s attack, which relies heavily on wide players like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, could benefit from a player like Nunez who can offer the directness and pace that the team currently lacks in the center of the forward line.
