After many years of struggling and failing to make it to the African Cup Of Nations Tournament, the Ghanaian James Akwasi Appiah who is an executive council member of the Ghana football association and a technical director of the most decorated club in Ghana, Kumasi Asante Kotoko has guided the Sudanese national team into their first Afcon since 2012. This came at the expense of Ghana's failure to qualify for the first time in 20 years. Best of luck to them in the upcoming competition in Morocco next year.
Sudan's political situation is quite complex and tumultuous. The country has been experiencing recurring eruptions of violence, particularly between the government and opposition forces as well as ethnic clashes.
