PICKFORD HOPES NEW HEAD COACH THOMAS TUCHEL CAN TAKE ENGLAND 'ONE STEP FURTHER' AND WIN 2026 FIFA

Britain will begin 2025 with another lead trainer as Thomas Tuchel assumes responsibility for the group. Tuchel will be hoping to win flatware with the Three Lions and goalkeeper Jordan Pickford thinks the German will have a "crew prepared to win". Break director Lee Carsley has said Britain have the "ability and the devices" to be all successful at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.


That Tuchel has basically been recruited to win flatware has proactively been clarified - and Pickford imagines that is no awful thing.

"No doubt, you have one objective and a single an open door," he said.

"Our center is without a doubt… since we've been so close, we need to go that above and beyond. There's most certainly new energy and there will be a great deal of rivalry for places.

"However, that is what's going on with it. You need the best players for Britain at the right second and ideally proceeding one year from now we have that crew prepared to win."


Britain completed Carsley's rule on a high with consecutive wins over Greece and the Republic of Ireland seeing them elevated to Countries Association A.

Carsley, who won five of his six matches and gave presentations to eight players, thinks Britain are in a "great position" to challenge at the 2026 World Cup.

"I think we have the ability to make it happen. We have the devices in general. We simply have to play them in the request," said Carsley.

"Thomas' pool of players has expanded so we have left the crew in a phenomenal position.

"I have been fortunate now to be at the last two or three World Cups and the planning of the players being in structure, genuinely and intellectually, with perfect timing, picking the right crew."

Following the finish of his interval spell Carsley is set to get back to his occupation as manager of the Britain Under-21s side.

The 50-year-old additionally said he would meet with Tuchel eventually to talk about their perspectives on the crew.

"We will order our contemplations, alongside the other players as far as giving over something. He can peruse and glance through. That is important," he said.


Harlem Eubank can hardly stand by to get back before a sectarian home group in Brighton.


Yet, the recently changed over welterweight is happy to simply be back in a ring for the present as he plans for his hotly anticipated return to activity at the opposite finish of the country.


Eubank makes his 147lb presentation on Friday when he faces Nurali Erdogan in Newcastle.
